An evening activity that works especially well with visiting cousins or at a sleepover.

Ce qu’il vous faut

Rien du tout.

Comment faire

  1. Everyone gets twenty minutes to prepare one short act.
  2. Set up a stage area and seating.
  3. Someone acts as compere and introduces each performer.
  4. Every act gets applause regardless of quality.
  5. Adults must perform too. This is not negotiable and it is the whole point.

Pourquoi c’est bon pour eux

Standing up in front of people is a real fear for many children, and the fastest way to reduce it is watching adults do it imperfectly first. Twenty minutes of preparation is deliberately short so nobody aims for polish.

Adapter selon l’âge

4 to 5 yearsPerform together in pairs so nobody is alone on stage.
11 to 12 yearsAdd a constraint: acts must be under sixty seconds, or must involve one prop.

Sécurité

No climbing on furniture as part of an act.

Astuce rangement

Chairs back as the encore.
