How to do it
- Write ten questions together. Push past the obvious ones.
- Ask about a specific memory rather than a general period: what did your kitchen smell like?
- Call or visit and let the child ask the questions themselves.
- Write the answers down, or record them with permission.
- Read it back to the family that evening.
