About Kidoloo

Kidoloo exists because most activity lists answer the wrong question.

They tell you fifty things you could do with a child. They do not tell you which of them fits the twenty minutes you actually have, whether you can join in or need to be on a call, whether it needs a craft cupboard you do not own, or how much mess you will be clearing up afterwards. Those four things decide whether an activity happens. Everything else is decoration.

What we do differently

Every activity on this site is tagged with a realistic duration including setup, a mess rating, a noise rating, the supplies it genuinely needs, and whether a child can do it alone. You filter on all of that at once. If you tell us you have nothing in the house, we will only show you activities that need nothing.

We also take multiple children seriously. If you add a five year old and a nine year old, we prioritise activities that genuinely work for both at the same time, rather than showing you a list that suits one and bores the other.

Why screen-free

Not because screens are evil. Because most parents already want less screen time and are short of alternatives at the exact moment they need one. Children aged two to five average close to three hours of recreational screen time a day, which is roughly triple what is generally recommended, and around three quarters of parents say their children need a break from screens. The gap is rarely willingness. It is having something better to hand within thirty seconds.

How activities get chosen

Every activity has to pass a simple test: would a reasonable parent actually do this on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon? That rules out most craft projects requiring nine materials, anything needing an hour of preparation for ten minutes of play, and anything that only works in a photograph.

We explain the developmental benefit of each activity in plain language, because parents deserve to know why something is worth their time. Those explanations describe generally accepted principles of child development. They are not clinical claims about your individual child.

Kidoloo is free with no account required. Nothing is hidden behind a signup. The site is supported by advertising, which we keep away from the space between you and the answer you came for. We do not run pop-ups or interstitials.
