What you need
- square paper

How to do it
- Start with a square sheet and fold all four corners into the centre.
- Turn it over and fold the four new corners in again.
- Fold in half, then work your fingers into the four pockets.
- Write numbers on the outside flaps and messages underneath.
- Play it on each other, then make a second one with better messages.
Why this is good for them
The folding sequence is precise, multi-step work that has to be done in the right order, which is excellent fine-motor and sequencing practice. Writing the eight messages is a small, contained piece of creative writing that never feels like writing.
