Activities a 3 year old can do alone

Every parent needs the same thing sometimes: an activity a 3 year old can genuinely start and continue without you. Not “watch from the sofa”, but actually alone, while you work, cook, or take a call. At three, pretend play takes over and simple instructions start to land. Ten to fifteen minutes is a realistic stretch.

Everything below has been chosen because a child this age can understand the instruction, sustain it, and finish it without adult help. Independent play also builds focus and problem-solving — it is not a compromise.
